Where to start...?

Well I suppose it's not technically a 'start' for me. When I was in college I weighed 118 lbs. Mind you, for someone who's 5'6" that's a bit low. I didn't realize how high my metabolism was back then, nor appreciated it.
Fast-forward about 10 years with no eating habit changes and I weighed a little over 200 lbs. I couldn't blame anyone but myself. Still can't. But that was about 6 years ago. Since then I took up running and belly dancing. I've lost close to 40 lbs. I love running and I LOVE belly dancing (if you haven't given it a try I HIGHLY recommend it!). But unfortunately I'm in a slump when it comes to losing the last 30 lbs I want to lose. I'm still running (well, when it's not rediculously cold outside... I'm in Northern Canada) and I'm taking 2 belly dance classes a week. So that means I need to tweak my food. Oooo I love food. Ice cream and chocolate and caramel and chips and ... ok, that's not helping me. So I found MFP and I'm SO glad I did! I use it online, on my iPad and on my iPhone so I have no excuses to NOT record my caloric intake. And the fact that they have just about every food under the sun listed in their database is so helpful. So I guess that's where I'm at. 40 down with 30 to go.
A little more about me personally, I'm Canadian and married to my wonderful American husband. I joke that he's my mail-order husband because we met online. No kids (no plans for that in the future either) but 5 adorable furbies (1 pooch and 4 cats). That's me in a nutshell. Just looking for friends on here to encourage and gain encouragement from. I know it's not easy to lose the weight. Just takes dedication and determination and the will to keep going. I'm hoping we can provide that for each other.
GOOD LUCK all, on your journey to a better you!

You can do it! You have already taken the first steps. I love MFP and so does my eldest daughter who I turned onto this site. There is so much support here. A lifestyle change is not easy. Take it day by day and try your best to do what you can to keep active. Cheer's to a healthier life for all!0

O.K>, you're a hoot! Feel free to friend me. If you've got the exercise thing down, you can nail the eating thing no problem. Just takes a little time to get YOUR foods in there and then it's a snap. Good luck, you've got the right attitude and you can do this!0

You remind me of me, even down to the mail order husband!0

Feel free to add me. Also when shopping for food, read the labels. It will take you forever at first to shop but you will get better at it. Cut down on the sodium and make your diary public so people can help you when they see a problem. Make sure you exercise and eat all of your calories that MFP tells you to eat. I know you won't make it every day but as close as you can to the goal. It works and welcome to the family.0
