Family challenges the diet

I began this Jan 29 and so far so good, but I sure notice how hard it is to stick to the right foods for dieting when my super slim family is eating McDonalds and Round Table pizza and I am eating a Lean Cuisine. With 2 teenagers and 2 little guys and the husband I can't feed them what I am eating. They don't appreciate it and besides none of them can afford to lose any weight. They could all use a few pounds. Im telling you smelling the french fries or the fried chicken is so dang hard it smells soooooo good! AAAAAAAHH

Totally understand. . .my husband is the same way. . .eats anything he wants and never gains an ounce. Me on the other hand, I can look at the foods he eats and gain weight. . .lol. He does eat the healthy foods I cook for dinner but breakfast, lunch and snacks are a much different story!!0

Just because they "could use a few pounds" doesn't mean they should be eating fast food ie processed food. Now we all eat it once in a while. Sometimes. Try cooking together healthy meals made from fresh foods!0

Sure you can feed them what you eat if you cook from scratch at home. This is a diet in the sense that you are eating healthier food and watching your portions so you don't over indulge. They can eat it too, they just get more plus it starts them to eating healthier which is better for everyone. Not just us that need to lose weight. Set a good example for all.0

I'm in the same boat but my family could stand to eat better. Everyone can eat better, slim or not McDonalds is mostly evil.

May I suggest to have one night a week where you cook a healthy and natural family meal for everyone? Message me if you are interested in recipes that even my picky meat-and-potatoes hubby will eat!0

My Husband is a Round Table nut and so is all of my family. Most of the time I do just have a Lean Cuisine and that is about the only time I have one of those. On ocassion if I have the calories I will have a piece of pizza and on Sat (my son is deploying) I am going to order myself a small skinny crust w/veggies. I will only have protein shakes the rest of the day and I will be able to stay at or near 1200 calories.
I understand that it is hard and it takes time to get yourself to a point that it doesn't bother you quite as much. I know I can't eat what they eat and if I want to be around to watch them eat pizza then I will watch them eat pizza.

I've been on the diet road for so long, I'm so use to cooking two meals. Actually with this site though, I eat whatever I do for my DH, but I just eat it in a smaller portion and count it. For me, this time, it isn't a diet, but a life style change....and teaching me portion control.0

I hear you! I don't have little ones at home, but my husband can eat whatever he wants without gaining an ounce! I used to make two separate dinners...not anymore! I need to learn to eat less of what I make and I'm learning to make it healthier (I sometimes have to make it a few times to get it a way in which he'll eat it though!) It's definitely been a learning experience! My grandkids love coming over with all the fresh fruit and veggies I have...they sure could stand to eat a little healthier too but I know it's much more expensive! Good luck in figuring out what works for you!!0

Also another thing I want to add if you live for pizza. Have it once a month. Blow ONE DAY. it will be ok!
I do at the end of every month just to say awww. It helps remind me why I stopped eating it all of the time (pizza bloat) and gets rid of the pesky cravings!0 -
Start planning and cooking meals. Post the meals on a calendar for all to see. Take request, but then lighten them up. You can make delicious and healthy meals that will appeal to the whole family. Heck even a homemade pizza is going to be a 1000 times better for all of you than Round Table. Take charge mom!0
