For the past week I am dreaming about food. My favorite foods to be exact . I am always out with friends or family eating. I don't wake up hungry just annoyed at the dreams.
I knew this was going to be hard when I had to drastically change my diet due to wanting to be healthy, lose weight and my acid reflux. I am fine during the day the way I am eating is keeping me full and satisfied so I am not thinking of the food I can't have. I am concentrating on getting better in all ways.
Just waking up from these dreams starts my morning off a little glum and makes me feel bad. I told my husband his answer ignore it get through it. I guess I just need some support that I am not getting here.
Any wise kind words?

Why don't you plan a special breakfast meal for yourself. The night before make a fruit salad or something that you like to eat that is healthy. Then when you wake up after dreaming about food, you will have something enticing to eat.0

Don't feel bad. You subconscious is trying to help you. There are no calories in dreams. Enjoy them. If you have that decadent slice of chocolate cake in a dream, you can enjoy every bite and not worry about it going to your hips. As long as the episodes stay in your dreams, they cannot hurt you.0

Why not try guiding what you dream about? Dreaming of your future life when you are slim and healthy?
If you constantly think about something you'll dream about it.
Lie in bed, and constantly think about whatever you would like to dream about right before you fall asleep. Saying it quietly to yourself helps sometimes too.
Get your subconscious mind off the subject of food and visualise yourself as slender and active.0 -
I used to think about food when I first started cutting things out. I think I had just gotten used to a certain diet and it took my while to adjust to the new normal. I don't dream about food anymore, but I still have strong scent triggers. When I smell chicken-fried steak, for example, it can definitely trigger a craving.
Good Luck!!!

You may not think about food you crave during the day, but you are thinking about food. I mean you are now making very specific choices about what you eat. This is a very good thing and you should be proud of yourself for being a mindful eater.
Do you like to read? I would find a really good book that you can really get sucked into before falling a sleep. This may direct your mind towards dreams that are set in the book. Especially if you read a book with a female protagonist.
However, as said in another post you could view it as guilt free chocolate cake0
