Water bottle questions

I drink only bottled water. We live in the country with NASTY water and no filters.
My question is, my bottle says 16.9 ozliq
But under that is says 1 Pinta, 0.9 oz liq
So is my bottle 16 oz or 9 oz?
I know, probably a stupid question.

16.9 oz. a pint is 16 ounces and the bottle holds an extra .9 of an ounce, so almost 17 ounces! when you add your bottles up for the day, make sure you dont forget about the .9 of an ounce, they add up!
recycle those bottles :bigsmile:0 -
It's 16.9oz. the bottom is just a different measurement. 1 pint 9 onces. there are 16oz in a pint so its the same thing.0

Your water bottle is 16.9 oz.
The 1 pint .9 oz. is just another way of saying it (1 pint=16 oz.)0 -
It is 16.9 ounces or 1 pint and .9 ozs. Otherwise it is just over 2 cups!0

Why not get a filter for your water? The faucet-mount and pitcher filters are really good, and it would save you so much money. Plus, then you wouldn't have to worry about running out of water.0

It's 16.9 oz because the US is pretty much the only country that doesn't use liters. 16.9 oz is 0.5 liters - so the bottle manufacturers don't have to produce more than one size of bottle.0

Ooo... and I've been waiting to advocate my new water bottle--it is a Bobble, with a built-in filter! Only about 10 bucks, and the "spout" on the top is a filter... I live in Houston and am actually drinking tap water (normally, I don't even brush my teeth with it). You can get them at Target, in-store or online. Also, they have a 32 oz bottle--3 of those and I know I'm good for the day!0

I would suggest using a Brita filter and a metal water bottle. Just saw the documentary 'Tapped' and boy oh boy there's nasty stuff in bottled water (it's not regulated or tested and is for the most part municipal water--it's a rip off). Many will say 'bottled at public water sources' in the bottle. So get a Brita online if they are not available near you. Metal water bottles are best (use a bottle brush to clean). Stay away from bottled water!0

We also have nasty tasting water. I bought a pur pitcher for our fridge. The water is delicious. Always cold and tastes great.
We used to have a brita faucet mounted filter, but the pitcher is more convenient.
Our entire family drinks a lot more water. We fill reusable bottles, so I don't feel bad about the environmental impact of all the empty disposable bottles.0 -
Ew I live in the country too and have well water from a well that was built a long time ago lol I don't drink my water either. I use the Brita water pitcher. I agree radicalreader.. I like the pitcher way better than the faucet mount! I fill my pitcher up and then pour the water into a gallon sized pitcher in the fridge and then fill my Brita pitcher again.... that way I always have lots of cold water available and don't have to constantly refill the Brita pitcher! That helps me drink a lot more water.0

Thanks for the help.
As for filters, I have had the britta filters and pitchers before and can't stand the tast of the water. And the metal bottle waters. O man, just the thought of metal touching my mouth like that make me cringe.
I know its not the best, but I make other changes to recycle.0 -

I agree water filters are the best, they do have bottles (plastic BPA free I believe) now that will filter the water as you drink it, each filter is good for about 300 bottles and it cost 10 bucks for 2 filters. I just got myself a metal bottle because I kept breaking the cheap plastic ones, so far I've dented it lol
Where did you watch that documentary, I'd be interested in seeing it.0 -
