Does anyone have any remedies for making bruises go away or preventing them from developing? I know it sounds weird, but I tend to bruise easily. Then, of course, I willingly go to kickboxing, where it is medium-to-full contact...so bruises, scrapes, etc. are commonplace. Although I am proud of my "battle scars"...with summer here, it would be nice to minimize their appearance! I'd appreciate any suggestions!

So, Vitamin C, and a topical lotion or Vitamin K and Arnica

Homeopathic Arnica is great but it's better for the pain and swelling than the colour.

Use a tensor bandage and lightly wrap a banana peel (fruit side down) over the bruise. Change a couple of times in a day and it really really helps bruises go.

UV light helps make them fade faster. I tan and it helps fade my bruises.

Oh, you want the scientific reason why? Well a bruise is just blood that has leaked from capillaries under the skin, it pools there and starts to breakdown.. this is when you see that nasty yellow color.. the yellow is called bilirubin.. ever seen babies that have to be under the little "tanning lamps?" That's phototherapy.. they use it for jaundice. UV light helps break down bilirubin.
