No soda, no candy, no take-out

I just wanted to share this because I really didn't think that those three little things could make so much difference. In the first two weeks that I started "watching" what I was eating and cut soda, candy, and take-out from my regular diet, I lost 2 pounds with no additional effort. Yes, that means I was still eating cardboard pizza and a giant bowl of ice cream. After seeing the difference it made, I've actually started exercising and eating so much healthier. It was an easy way to start and I'm hoping that perhaps it'd help motivate some new people to try getting rid of something they never thought they could do without. I NEVER thought in a million years I'd be able to stay away from soda for more than one day. I surprised myself immensely.

sooooo true! When I first started "trying" to lose weight, I cut out my ice cream (which I love and over-indulge in!) and my fave candy (Sour punch straws) and I was already a non-soda drinker (except for the rare cherry limeade). Just making those changes in my life helped...... since then, I am now a water drinker and have started using the myfitnesspal iphone app to keep a food journal and monitor my calorie intake. (I was previously using the LoseIt iphone app). As of this morning I am down 11 pounds and I still eat whatever (just don't over-indulge) but I have drastically cut down my sugar intake. This has helped me so much. I'm hoping to lose even more! I need to drop at least another 20-30 lbs to get where I should be, but 11 lbs is a great start!0

I agree and congratulations on the weight loss. I've cut down to one mello yellow(my 1 and only addiction) per week and so far, I have lost 1 lbs. I've got a bit of a sweet tooth so I haven't been able to cut my sweets as drastically as my soda but, I will get there. I have also stopped eating fried foods. Everything I eat now is either baked or grilled. So, I think that has also helped me to not lose weight fast but nevertheless, lose 1 lbs and any weight loss is great!0
