Alrigh, so i lost most of the weight that i need to lose and now i have only about 5 lbs remaining. For the past 2 weeks, i've been the same exact weight and i'm supposed to lose 1 lb a week. Should i eat less?? Or should i just stick with what i've been doing?? My current daily calorie limit is 1240 and i know you're not supposed to get less than 1200. And do you know how long it would take for me to get over this "plateau"??

It could take weeks to get past a plateau. Change your exercise habits. Try new foods. The main thing is to keep at it. Your body has adjusted to what you usually do. You need to shock it ( like jumping a car) to reactivate your body. Hang in there you'll make it.0

strength training and increasing your calorie intake for a short period of time will fix a plateau. you only need to add 200-300 calories daily. your body thinks its starving.0

Thanks for your input guys! I just increased my daily calorie intake to 1350...hopefully that'll be enough "shock" my body to help it get over the plateau...0

I've been at a plateau for the last month, which happened to coincide to when I lowered my daily calories (MFP told me to, so I did). I bumped my calories up this past Monday to what I originally was eating, and I've ALREADY seen a loss.
Our bodies seem to have a magic calorie number and as long as we hit that number, we'll lose.
Best of luck with your journey!0 -
