Is the school run exercise?

Hello,

Although this question is specifically about the school run it could be applied to any regular physical activity.

I walk my kids to and from school every day (a total distance of 4km). Should I count this in my exercise diary or is it already accounted for in my fitness preferences - I consider myself to fit the "lightly active" lifestyle? Sometimes I log it on MFP but usually I don't bother.

I guess it doesn't really matter at the end of the day whether it's logged or not but I am interested in tracking how exercise effects my weight loss.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Sounds like it would be included in your lifestyle. If you were set at sedentary then you should add it otherwise don't.

I agree with erickirb. Because you set it to lightly active I would count your daily walk as already factored in.

You could turn it into a run and then count it!
