I am trying to lose ten pounds and tone, I only eat 1200 cal a day and it doesnt seem like much but when i look at the totals carbs always seem to be my down fall. Does anyone have any suggestions on foods that are low in carbs?

Egg whites omlete in the morning with veggies of oyur choice. Turkey roll up with spicy mustard for mid morning snack. Lunch have a salad with plenty of veggies and a light dressing. Mid afternoon snack sugar free jello and dinner you can do meat and veggies. Easy on the portion sizes, but you will loose at least 5 pounds in your first week. Hope that helps. I am about to start my plan too. I base it off the South beach Diet. There are some good recipes in that book as well. Good Luck, and let's loose this weight together.0

If you only have 10 pounds to lose 1200 cals is not enough unless you are very short and already light. Try chaning your goal to 0.5 lbs/week or at most 1 lb/week. The less you have to lose the closer you should be to your maintenance calories. This way you can avoid losing muscle instead of fat, which is really what you are trying to lose (fat not weight)0

I do South Beach as well. It's a great program. I highly recommend it. Aside from that, hard to make recommendations without seeing your diary other than something lame like "Just eat more meat". If you'd like to share it, PM me. I have to be careful with carbs and sodium, and most days I do a pretty good job of it.0 -
Anything with colour is good anything without colour is not so good!!! Pasta, bread, rice, and potatoes, stay away from. Eat the vegetables with the most colour and Dark green veggies!! I live by eating no carbs and i find the choice good for me! I discovered a flax bread that is amazing, higher in cals but its whole with only natural whole products filling satisfying and amazing. You can add stuff to it to personalize it.0

Here is an update since I last posted about having trouble with carbs. I barely eat carbs at all and if i do they come from healthy foods like fruit or veggies. I have been clean eating and hitting the gym 2 hrs a day, weight lifting mostly. I am training to be in fitness competitions. I am toning and leaning down quick and feeling great. Which i had found this way of eating so much sooner. I eat every 2-3 hours, eat meat, fruit and veggies. Thanks for the egg white scramble suggestion....LOVE THEM. I am on protein shakes and lots of GNC goodies. In the last week I have lost alot of body fat and gained a whole lot of muscle.
Im now at 130 due to muscle gain but i look lean and toned......Now begins the journey to 9% body fat0 -

As a female why is your goal 9%BF, essential fat is 10-13% any lower and you can have some health concerns.0
