So I am just started going over on my fats recently and need help. I know it is the cheese and peanut butter that I eat but I need some help figuring out what to replace it with. I am a vegetarian so I eat the pb for protein with lunch...any suggestions? I think my food journal is for public viewing. Thanks so much!

Also, how much will going over in fats hinder weight loss if all other catagories are not going over (besides fiber, I get a lot of that)...

First, I would definitely nix the shake. If you are looking for protein, try doing a plain, nonfat container of Chobani Greek Yogurt and flavor it with cinnamon and splenda. If you miss the chocolate flavor, use a tsp of unsweetened cocoa.

Second, 95% of your food is processed!!! You really should have some veggies and fruit in there-- it'll help you crave the fatty stuff less, keep you fuller longer, and will definitely help with weight loss.

Replace some of the other fats with sources of protein-- for example, instead of the PB, have black or pinto beans. You can even puree these and make them a spread for sandwiches.

Cottage cheese is another great option; you can make it savoy (salsa, garlic, etc) or sweet (fruit, cinnamon, vanilla, splenda, jam, etc)
  • I am usually well over on my fats, however they come mostly from natural sources nuts, avocado, hemp oil. I have lost over 20 lbs since the new year. Eliminate processed stuff. For your morning shake if you like chocolate do this:

    3/4 cup almond milk
    1/2 cup blueberries
    1 small banana
    1 teaspoon cacao
    4 scoops hemp protein powder

I guess you can use milk but I don't eat milk and cheese. I do yogurt sometimes.

I do occasionally have nut butters but normally eat raw almonds, cashews instead. I love avocados which I eat 1 a day which sends my fats way up. If it is natural and healthy I don't worry.

    Good luck.
