New to dieting. I love MFP

This is my first time actually watching what I eat, when I eat, and how much I eat. I am a railroader and my work requires me to sit for 8-12 hrs without being able to walk around. ( basically as much as a truck driver if not less) I also have to pack a lunch that lasts 2 days since I am away from home that long. So meal planning is an obstical that I have been dealing with. I would like to try out P90x but my work schedual it too messed up for it at this time so I have just stuck with cardio exercises and the pullup bar.
I am looking for some people that will help motivate me and discuss some different ways I could improve my diet.
Since Jan 3 I have been on a 1610 cal diet. The first 2 weeks was a very low carb diet and the last 2 weeks I have been eating a little more to cover some of the burnt Cals from exercise. I have been trying to eat a more balanced diet (used to be a carb fiend.)

That sounds tough man. But here's the thing...1610 sounds like an awfully small number of calories for a guy. I don't know how tall you are but I am 5'8" with a goal of losing 1 pound a week. I am supposed to net 1840 calories a day after food and exercise. You may not be eating enough calories in order to lose the amount of weight you are going for.
The other thing you might want to try is making your diary public. If you are wanting advice on diet and food, giving access to your diary will be a big step in the right direction. Good luck with everything and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want.0 -
The diary is public now. The 1610 cal diet is what MFP gave me when I entered all my data and to lose 2 pounds a week. I am not starving or hungry at any time of the day and I have plenty of energy. More than when my daily was around 30000
