hi
i am currently on week4 run3 of Gateway to 8k. At the moment I am able to complete the runs but I have not always been able to get in the three sessions a week. I did a 7k run yesterday and i'm wondering if it's ok to skip my rest day and run again today? i'm off work for the weekend so I'd like to catch up on my training, however the programme says its recommended that you take a rest day between workouts and i've read lots of stuff on 'rookies' injuring themselves due to not taking rest days. As for my fitness level - i can complete the runs, my muscles don't hurt after the runs but my breathing is still pretty laboured during the runs.
hope all that makes sense and i'd appreciate any advice! thank u!

I'm no expert but I'd say go with your body.
First sign of problems, illness or pain stop - otherwise if you feel up to not having a redt day - try it?
