Is it OK to get rid of the scale for a while?

I'm trying really hard to not get down but its becoming impossible. After 8 weeks or more of not losing anything or losing 1-2 and then it coming right back and being stuck again I can't seem to break this plateau. This week I thought...wow it was a great week, no slip ups. Under calories, exercise daily. Nope, nothing again.
I'm scared of not knowing the number on the scale....will I be less accountable?
Has anyone not weighed in for a few weeks or even months?
On that note! I'm going out for a jog....

I've went a couple weeks or so. It's different for everyone. If you need to watch the scale to be held accountable, don't not weigh-in. But, if you're getting discouraged & it's hindering your progress then by all means, kick it to the curb for a couple weeks and see if you feel better about things.

Also, make sure you're taking your measurements.

I asked my husband to hide my scale. I was becoming obsessed to the point of causing myself anxiety. I get to weigh in now every 2 weeks. So I think its ok to not weigh as often.

You also might need to zig zag your calories to keep your body guessing and try changing up your workouts. Do something different maybe. I switch between 3 different programs

I hid mine for a couple weeks and it helped tremendously! I was stepping on everymorning and I would get so discouraged. The couple weeks I wasn't weighing-in, I focused more on how I felt.

It's been at least 2 months since I weighed myself. At this point it's all about how I feel.

It's okay to put the scale away for a while, there's less anxiety!!!
  • I'm trying to take everything into account. I have been changing up workouts for 3 weeks now. Doing something different at least 3x a week. I think I'll try my best to put the scale away for a few weeks and see if it helps me at all.
    Thanks!
