Ok, since I got my HRM the other day, I decided I'd try a Jazzercise session w/ it on just to see how much I burn using that for exercise. There was an entry previous here on MFP, I think it told me somewhere around 250 cal for a session.
(Now I know, alot of people think that Jazzercise is totally 80's w/ the headbands and all, but back about 8 years ago I did it and lost a TON of weight and it's a workout that makes me feel good and I actually enjoy it. So go ahead and laugh, get it out... :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: Feel better? Good.)
So, back to the topic at hand.
WHOA!! Did I burn alot of calories!!!
Jazzercise 60 mins = 600 cal (rounded)
and I stayed for Body Sculpting afterwards.
Body Sculpting 50 mins = 400 cal!!!
Now I've burned up 1,000 cal today... I even had Chick-fil-a on the way home because I was ravenous and exhausted...
If I'm supposed to eat my exercise calories, I still have another 800 to consume!! Impossible unless I sit on the couch and stuff my face w/ ice cream during the next hour!

Thanks! I think I may stick to Jazzercise now that I know how much I burn... and enjoy it!
Hmm.. let's see..
The interval "sprint" training I did the other night burned about 240 cal in 20 mins
Jazzercise burned 600 cal in an hour... but I have fun!
I better find something to stuff my face with before Banks beats me for not eating my calories!0
