So, I'm not so happy with today. I went over by about 450 -500 cals!!!! I was blind-sided by a huge work load today and didn't get in any exercise other than a few walks (usually I hit the work outs much harder!!) AND I was really hungry today! I don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that I had a mega exercise day yesterday... Does anyone know? I did almost 900cals worth of exercise and did eat most of it through the day (the biggest part of my work out was in the morning so I knew I'd have a big surplus) but I am really ravenous today and I don't know if it's an effect of yesterday. Anyway, I totally need some encouragement. I'm only a week in...

  • Pace yourself and remember it's a daily process. Make sure you have a substantial amount of fiber in your menu at all times. Find healthier alternatives for the prominent guilty pleasures you have. Remember that you will overcome when you're back on the treadmill or on your walks.

Thanks guys. I think part of what frustrates me so much about today is the fact that it wasn't like I just lost it at the end of the day and decided to have a giant bowl of chocolate ice cream or something. It was all well-rounded, wholesome foods. Part of it for me is that there isn't terribly much garbage in my diet (I'm a bit of a princess when it comes to whole foods) so it's the lack of a good work out today.

My weight came from a combination of less than ideal eating habits and a very very slow and long-time undiagnosed thyroid. The bummer is that just because you get on the meds doesn't mean you drop the weight. That's not fair!! lol

I guess it's a good lesson and motivation to have a kick butt day tomorrow. This is so not simple, eh?

Getting on the meds does not make you loose weight. But hopefully it will help not to be too hungry.
So let's assume that this is under control.
As AJ said, pace yourself. Give it some time to learn and get used to it. You WILL make mistakes, like everybody else here, and learn from them. But by doing what you started every day you will also learn what works best for you.
It is very likely that you get as you call it ravenous the next day after exercise. Especially if that is "new" to your body. That will get better over time too. You may have to change what you are eating and try what happens when you eat more carbs or more protein.
and most importantly: try to get not too frustrated (I know... not that easy) if it doesn't quite go as planned. As you said yourself, it is not THAT easy:smile:
