Hi all!! I am new to myfitnesspal and I am hoping to get advice and support here. I have struggled with normal eating my whole life. I used to be anorexic a few years ago. Then I suddenly started to eat late at night. After about 3 years now I am a complete night eater and also suffering from severe insomnia. I eat over 50% of my calories at night. Before I go to bed i have at least 500 calories. Then i will wake up 4-5 times per night to eat. I wake up with horrible stomach pains and cant go back to bed unless i have eaten! I need help! I eat soooooooo clean it is i just cant control my portions and calorie intake. I will have peanut butter/protein bars/eggs/lean meat/ veggies/almond milk etc at night and now i am 20 lbs overweight. i exercise sooooo much just to keep myself not getting obese. only if i could eat properly-- i love eating the right foods, but dont know how to conquer this night eating habit! Please help if anyone has this issue or knows what i should do!!

I don't have any answers but I am sorry that you are going through this. Have you seen a doctor about sleep or lack of it?

Can you plan your meals to eat during the day. I have trouble sleeping when I am hungry. Maybe if you eat during the day and satisfy your body you will sleep at night. The sleep pattern could be a habit now and you will need to see a doctor to obtain some normal sleep patterns.

I am sorry I don't have any answers. I hope you figure it out.

Have you seen a doctor about this? I think a lot of people struggle with eating at night but in your case it sounds like a debilitating problem.

In my case if I'm legitimately hungry I'll eat something with protein, and if I'm just craving something sweet I have some herbal tea.
