Playing in the snow

We have a foot of snow outside. It's finally warm enough today to play in it, so my daughters and I played and built a snowman for about an hour. Well, with a foot of snow, you can imagine, I was working up a sweat walking in it. I don't normally count things like playing with my kids or cleaning my house as exercise, but on a whim I plugged in snowshoeing into MFP and found that 30 minutes= over 300 calories!!! Do you think that I could have burned this while playing with the kiddos? I was walking that whole time and even walked across our property(3 acres) to get some sticks. What do you think?

I think so! It is also my understanding that our bodies burn more calories in the cold because not only is it working to do the activity, but also working to keep you warm! Congrats on the burn!

Great burn! I definitely think that would count.... I bet you even burned more than that pushing the snow around.
