I was wondering this too. I had lunch, and threw it up due to the medications I was on. I still counted it, but I was super under my goal anyway that day :(

Gross - yes - but if you can't ask it here then where else right?

And my response is just as gross because I would think it would depend how soon after eating you got sick. I don't know...maybe count half of them? YIKES...sorry you are trying to figure this out!

I would, but you know you got sick so it's really not going to matter since you expelled what ever it was that you ate. I would record just for the purpose of knowing what went in. Hope you feel better!

Hmm...seriously, the volume of chunks would have to be measured but they should still be partially digested. I'd still count em, personally.

Not much absorption in the stomach, happens in the intestines to the tune of 95%
  • Depends on what and how much you ate, carbs especially would have been absorbed already. "Food begins to be digested immediately upon entering the mouth, and vomiting does not expel all of the stomach contents. When the stomach suddenly contracts to vomit, around 50% of its contents are pushed further down into the intestine where they will be digested and absorbed. An often quoted 1993 study published in the American Journal of Psychiatry concluded that bulimic patients retain approximately 1150 calories after vomiting, regardless of whether they binged on a large or small meal.
