Just wondering if there are any remedies I don't know about. My son broke my glasses and I don't have a spare pair anymore, so my astigmatisms are causing a killer headache. I exercised, drinking lots of water, and took Aleve. I am hoping to get a new pair tomorrow. But need any ideas for today?? Lol. Thanks.

ice on the painful area. I take advil extra strength advil....they seem to work usually. massage, apparently peppermint oil massaged into the temples. I have also heard that there is an accupressure point in the web of your thumb for headaches. Might be worth googling.

I know before MFP I got migraines all the time and NOTHING would make them better. Since being on MFP I gave up soda almost entirely so now when I do get a migraine I take 2 ibuprofen and down a 1/2 can of soda and it seems to handle the migraine in a couple minutes.

All of these work for me ...
    excedrine migraine
    ice pack across eyes/forehead/cheekbone
another ice pack at the base of your skull
squeeze the tendon you can feel in the web of your thumb
there's another pressure point on your forearm about an inch from your elbow
hot and sour soup from your local chinese restaurant
last resort ... peppermint milk shake that you drink through a straw (puts cold on the top of your mouth ... and gives you kind of an ice cream headache that sometimes will counteract the migraine headache)

Caffeine always helps my migraines. Excedrin migraine is great, has caffeine in it, or a good old fashioned cup of coffee or soda.
    Good luck, feel better!! :flowerforyou:

and this will sound weird, but helped me deal with my astigmatism when I had broken glasses years ago.
Make a solid eye mask out of cardboard.
Poke a tiny hole over each eye.
The dark mask cuts down on the light assaulting your eyes (always one of my worst migraine symptoms) PLUS you can still see through the holes PLUS for some reason (at least for me) my eyes could focus when looking through the holes rather than seeing the whole big blurry world.

You will look really strange, but ...

It helps! Lol. Staying in the house, lol, but I think you're right.. since it's the focusing that's the problem, the small hole makes one thing at a time to focus on...strange, but helpful! Thanks :)
