SBF Reboot Boogaloo! Valentine's week!

Happy Valentine's Day my Pebbs!:heart::smooched:

I am glad the weekend is over since it wasn't a very good one and ready to get back into my routine!
A new goal for the coming few weeks is to limit my dairy intake. I had some dairy yesterday and my tummy was not happy. Some times it's a problem, some times it's not. Since we could possibly have a few stressful weeks coming up I think it's best to limit it as much as possible. I will have a little cheese but hopefully nothing else.
My goals for this week: walk/jog intervals (as long as I feel up to jogging) and taebo at least 3x, get my water intake back up where it should be, log all my food, and get some more cleaning done on the house.
Do you have any V-day plans? We don't really, except that I plan to dress up in nice clothes (which I only do some times for church) and serve Steve (and Alex) dinner by candle light. Not that romantic but we didn't line up a sitter for Alex and our minds are more wrapped around tomorrow. And I'm making Valentine's cupcakes, which Steve will take the left overs to work tomorrow so I don't eat them all.

One more day...maybe boogaloo!

And wasn't it three years ago this month that we (V, I think) started this group? Happy anniversary!:flowerforyou:

Was it three years ago? I can't remember what it was called then. I remember it was Niccole that started it, originally. Oh, it was more than three years ago - I just remembered why - three years ago, I lost my other kitty and I remember posting it here - I don't think I would have done that if I didn't know you guys.

Today is the sad day. To answer your question, MM, my guy wouldn't die an easy death without assistance. He drags his back legs behind him now and frequently messes himself. It's very sad. The past few days have been tough. His mind is still alert though, that always makes it harder. He's on my lap now. I will miss him terribly.

Luckily, I don't give two straws for Valentine's Day. Never was my thing.

Depending on how we feel, we may or may not go to yoga this afternoon. We will go for a walk. Another nice day.

    Letting go, boogaloo.

    Morning,

Mary, I'm sending you vibes of peace and strength. I have never had to put an animal down, but I can imagine what you're going through.

I decided not to work out today, and now feel a bit down about it. Just don't feel like my normal self right now. I miss her.

Trying to make the goal of the week to have fewer goals. It's hard. Yesterday, my leftt side went a little numb. Im in a spiral where I'm so stressed out about how i feel that now i think stress is efeecting how i feel. At least until I have a better idea of what's going on, my husband would prefer I not push it. Fair enough. Hopefully today my specialist referrals will happen.

    Mysterious boogaloo.:flowerforyou:

    Morning, pebbs...

Got a phone call from my friend's secretary yesterday, so the ball is rolling to get me a referral (to not only a neurologist, but one of the best in the country). I cannot tell you the load that this takes off of me. Just to be listened to is amazing (and really, the bare minimum one should expect from a doctor, IMHO).

Today is teaching (I love it when the course lines up with my minimal prep comfort zone of knowledge) an appointment at the mall, and looking at a couple of apartments later today. Only mildly freaking out at the prospect of moving. It's a lot of money/time/energy...but the idea of moving to a roof that functions and an office of my own is pretty darn attractive.

Other than that, my commuter walk (hopefully) and moving toward some better food choices. (I'm brainstorming bland but good for me...must get off my current diet of crackers and gingersnaps.)

    Better choices, boogaloo.:flowerforyou:

V, that's good news. I sure hope you can get in soon and get some answers. I miss doctors who actually listen and try to help. It's been awhile since I've been to on e of those. Alex's doctor was like that, but he's 2.5 hours away now. :frown:

Mary, how are you holding up?

    How is everyone else doing?

I am not really a big fan of Valentine's Day but Steve is a romantic so it's kind of an important day to him. Our candlelit dinner went nicely and Alex was really excited about it. The rest of my day did not play out like I had hoped. A friend, one of my closest, asked if I could watch her kids last minute. I was a bit irritated but how can I say no to my friend? It went fine and the boys were great but it also took three hours. I did not get to work out yesterday and I was really bummed about that. I also didn't have time to log my food or drink a lot of water. :grumble:
Today is the day we've been waiting for for two months. Trying not to get my hopes up, but it really can't be helped. If there's no referral I WILL be disappointed. At least I will be busy today. Horse therapy, prayer meeting (need that today!!! ), and hopefully a good work out. If we get a referral I might be on the phone all afternoon. Does talking get a good burn?
    Going or not going boogaloo!

Fingers crossed for you referral - you can always pace on the phone, so that will count for something, right, MM?

Good luck in your apartment search. Saw "Scott Pilgrim" last night and thought of you - music and TO.

I'm holding up better than expected. I think he was ready to go, but I will miss him terribly. I feel free to go on trips now. I went on them anyway, but hopefully there will be less guilt now.

Went for two walks and to yoga yesterday. More of the same today.

    Less guilt, boogaloo.

When I went to see that in the theatre here it was crazy. The theatre erupted in the one scene where they break through a backdrop of the NY skyline and Toronto peeks through. It's very rare that Toronto gets to star as itself in a movie.

We got news. It's not much and not definite but at least we finally heard something. The DOE told Andrei they are currently checking the legal status of a girl (meaning she is completely available and has no "loving" relatives to stop the adoption) and they will probably know in a few days if she is available. So it's good news that they do have a child that fits our requirements, but could be bad news and more waiting if she's not available. I am hopeful.
Really fighting the don't wannas today. I feel tired and I'm cramping. This week isn't working out exactly like I had hoped. I've been very hungry and wanting to eat a lot too. Not a good combo.

Hang in there, MM! Hoping for good news!

Mary: So sorry about your kitty. I have one that is 17. He is our oldest. So far, he is doing fine, but we don't know how long we will have at this age.

V: Good luck with the apartment!

I'm continuing to log and trying the Curves diet. Mostly low carb, but not too bad. It may be working. I've kept the calories reasonable as well. Trying to have more good, lean protein and not the fatty kind. Also vegetables and some fruit. Had half a cup of yogurt and fruit this morning and I get a protein shake each day. So far, so good.

We are getting a new puppy! Andrew is thrilled. Puppy is only two weeks old, so we have a few more weeks to go. She is a Siberian Husky pup. Very cute.

    Puppy boogaloo!

Bobbie, so good to see you checking in again! I want a Siberian Husky! Those dogs are so beautiful. If we move to Russia then I will get one.
I have been struggling the last few days with everything. I just don't feel well. Lady time hasn't even started yet and I feel bad. (Insert pouty smiley face here.) I will try to get back on track today with logging food and walking(possibly jogging if I feel up to it). I might even throw some Taebo in there. I am watching Biggest Loser today before I work out so that should help me get motivated. Other than that I am debating going through boxes again to get rid of stuff. The house is still pretty clean from Saturday, so that's a big help. I want to get rid of more stuff because if this Russian child is available it is possible the adoption could happen pretty fast, and we will need the room. That's my motivation.

Off to a slow start boogaloo!

I cleaned and cleaned yesterday, did some rearranging, and now I have a yoga space at home  There are a couple of things I would like to change around still - most of them involve electricity, so I would have to get someone to come out (I want to move a chandelier). The windows are a job for this weekend.

Today is double yoga. I'm thinking about getting the bike out tomorrow - we're having weather in the mid 70s.

I also need to be more careful with my food choices. The weight started to creep back.

    Careful, boogaloo.

I would like to take a moment to say I hate not working out. So, I guess that's progress.

Today is an appointment and grocery shopping. The eating out stops now.

Other than that, not much. We looked at an apartment/palace yesterday, now we're just waiting to see if they approve us. Fingers crossed. Our price range makes it really tough in the big city, and this place has everything we want. (except, of course the ability to teleport all our belongings into it)

I hope you get more detailed, good news soon, MM. Awesome news on the yoga room, Mary. Bobbie, keep checking in.

    Fingers crossed, boogaloo.:flowerforyou:

    Good morning, ladies!

Didn't get to Curves yesterday. The gods were conspiring against me! Kept getting phone calls at work, so left later than I wanted to get to Curves. Was still going to make it, but then I got behind a horse in the historic district. After I got past Luke (the horse), I got stopped by a train! I finally figured that I was not meant to go to Curves, so I went home and danced with my Wii instead.

Still logging in food and finding some pleasant surprises. I thought doing the low carb that the calories would shoot up, but the calories have remained in my "good" zone. Eating healthy and well balanced. My carb content had gotten way up there, so good to cut back.

Today: Get to Curves either after work or while Andrew is at his tennis lesson. Drink lots of water!:drinker:

Hope everyone has a good day!

    Good morning,

Bobbie, I had a day like that on Monday. I was ready to work out that day, but I wasn't able to get to it. Maybe I needed a day off. Although I doubt it. Sounds like you are doing great!

Tell me if this is not so smart. Alex is obsessed with clocks, and last night he said we need an analog clock (face, hands) in our room because we have a digital clock but not an analog. He has both in his room and thinks everyone should have both. I told him that the ticking would keep daddy and I awake. He quickly replied, "Well, then just get one with just two hands." He knows the second hand makes the noise. I thought that was so smart.

V, I had a dream about you last night. I dreamed Alex, Steve and I were in our living room flipping through the TV channels and saw you on TV singing. I said to Steve, "There's V! That's my friend V!" I was so excited. That was it to the dream but I thought it was cool.

I was tempted to step on the scale this morning, but figured it would just lead to disappointment. I want to only weigh in once a month. I can tell I am slimming up a bit so then I want to see if I've lost something but I am also building muscle again which means the scale could be up right now. So I will wait till the 1st. If I am losing, then it will just be a bigger number then right? I am officially late again in my cycle. So I will do the routine of buying a test and then it will start later today. That's usually the way it goes. Wouldn't that be a trip if I was expecting? I am sure it's just because I started running again.
Goals today: finish my grocery list and get to the store, walk and/or tae bo, laundry and cleaning.

    Feeling good boogaloo!

Today I'm going for a walk with a friend outside. It's very Spring-like out there. I miss the cold a bit. Spring means yard work - which I don't mind when I feel I have the time. It's actually perfect for yard work today - overcast and the mid 70s.

I'm still working on sitting down to eat - anything. I didn't realize what a bad habit it had become until I tried to stop.

Also, practice the yoga class that I'm teaching next week.

    Spring? boogaloo.

    Morning pebbs (afternoon?),

Another recovery day while I wait to hear a great many things...

still waiting on news of the apartment, an appointment with a doc, and word about a few other projects. Got accepted to present at a conference (in Rochester...CP?) The bad news is the conference is in two weeks, so there's a lot to finish up and prepare in a short period of time...and I very well may also be packing to move. I live an exciting life:noway:

I have a meeting with a committee member this afternoon, too. That will hopefully help me be able to submit my proposal to the powers that be at the university (I wanted to do this by January 1...I've just been waiting for my entire committee to get around to it)

Have felt pretty good the past few days. I think I might try a "real" workout on Sunday and see how I fare. In the meantime, I'm using the extra/almost normal energy to get stuff done/think about spring cleaning/paring down stuff before the move (even if we stay, getting rid of more stuff is a good idea, I think). Right now I'm tackling the bookshelves and thinking of getting rid of my "super-fancy" clothes When I was performing more, I had to wear gowns a lot. Not so much call for gowns lately, and they're probably technically all sort of not fitting/out of fashion. I might get rid of all but one. . .in case MM is psychic and I end up singing on TV.

    Waiting, waiting, waitng, boogaloo.:flowerforyou:

    Morning,
Today is my last non workout day, but I plan to use my workout energy on housecleaning, food prep/shopping and further sorting/de cluttering. Also, the advisor meeting involved much constructive criticism of the proposal so I have some serious re-tooling to do as well as work on polishing the conference paper.

Other than that, just scouring apartment listings in case we don't get approved by the owners of the place we like. (some people equate "musician" with "noise", so that could possibly work against us.) also, I'm still waiting for doctors to call.

    Suspense, boogaloo :flowerforyou:

V, sorry you are having to wait on so many things right now. That's a tough place to be. I hope you get some answers soon.

Mary, I'm not quite ready for yard work either. One more cold spell wouldn't be such a bad thing. Usually we get another cold snap around Easter but Easter isn't until the end of April this year so I doubt there will be a cold snap. Maybe a "cool" snap.

I'm not expecting which is what I expected. My goals today are to stay off my butt until this evening. I have some laundry to put away, cleaning to do (maybe some deep cleaning as well), a good work out (walk/jog and taebo), and I really need to spend some time with Alex today, playing a game or something. I debated on going roller blading and letting Alex ride his trike but I will wait till tomorrow to see if Steve wants to join us. I didn't get much sleep last night so I hope I can accomplish all my goals!

    Getting things done boogaloo!
