feeling discouraged

Well, it's been about 4 weeks that I've been really working hard at being healthy. Eating fresh fruiits and veggies, low cal snacks instead of chips and dip, adding in more protein, not adding any salt to anything, drinking lots of water, and exercising daily. I still don't reach my calorie goal daily, but I've doubled my calories from what they were 2 months ago... I feel like I do nothing but eat all day!!
Anyway, I feel like the weight is just not coming off like I want it to. I had a week of no change this week, and what really got me down was that my jeans felt tighter this morning. And unfortunately they were not just out of the dryer... But why is it that I'm doing all the right things, but not seeing results??? Help!?!
I'm trying to be patient and take things one day at a time and stay positive...I'm 5 pounds lighter than I was! But I feel like with everything I'm doing it should be more... Sigh...

don't give up--it's an old line, but the weight didn't come on in 4 weeks and it won't come off any sooner. and I understand about feeling discouraged, but while the weight might now be coming off as fast as you'd like (and don't put down that 5 pounds already lost--that's 5 whole pounds!!), are you feeling better all around in general?
I know that you read other posts and remember how many people have been right where you are--and you send them encouragement, right?? so give yourself those same words--you deserve it!!!
You are doing so well--I see your exercise and look at your diary--you are right, you are earing more and that's the direction you want to be moving--just give your body a chance to catch up with the new way you are treating it--I think my body had to learn to trust me again--heck I had to learn to trust myself.
if you listen to yourself--just let yourself be quiet and tune in--you will find strength beyond measure--look at what you've already done for your son and yourself.
don't, don't give up--again a cliche' but the only way through in through0 -
whoops, I meant the only way through IS through0

Hang in there, sweety. I know it had to be frustrating, but even if the weight is moving the way you want, you have improved your quality of life and the amount of time you have here with the healthy choices you are making!
That said -- I looked over your diary. I would say, if you keep up your current habits (which look rpetty good to me!) and still don't see any weight change in the next couple weeks, go to your doctor and discuss how your body's been behaving and what your options are. Not that anything's necessarily wrong (I don't want to scare you!) but you may want to discuss it with your doctor just to see if she has any suggestions for you.0 -

Don't get down on yourself! We all expect immediate results and the truth is, life isn't really like that. I know you, and I know how you're feeling. You can't compare yourself to other people (like on the biggest loser) who have hundreds of pounds to lose and therefore see results like 20 lbs lost a week. That is not your body. Try not to look at your loss on a weekly basis, but on a monthly basis. The results will be greater. My sister has been working out and eating right for a year now and she's lost 30 pounds, which is incredible and she looks great! But...it took a whole year. Just keep plugging along miss Kate, you'll get the results you want eventually. And...keep on eating, it'll keep your metabolism going. As for the tighter jeans, it could just be the way your weight is fluctuating, it could also be a bit of water retention. Don't worry about it! Love you!0

Somehow, we can only do the right thing and the body will follow....eventually. Keep the faith!!!0
