How much sugar should I be consuming? I feel like I am always over my sugar numbers. I eat fairly low glycemic, but it seems like there is sugar in everything.

I usually stay around 25-30 a day. Can we see your diary? Fruit will bring this number up immediately--I stay away from it.

I hear you. I'm pretty much always over on my sugar too. There's sugar in everything!! Whatever MFP suggested for you, seems to be pretty accurate as far as the USDA or FDA recommendations go.

Sugar from fruit is fine. (although, 2 - 3 servings of fruit per day is plenty). You just need to look at refinded sugars; the sugars that are added to foods. That's anything prepare/prepackaged, etc.

Are you sure? MFP adds fruit and everything. I hardly ever eat anything refined or packaged, etc. I mean 8 sugars for fat free cottage chesse is like 1/3 of my daily allowance.
