I've been here "forever" compared to everyone else. I joined in September 2009 but didn't continue, due to major computer virus problems. Started up again at the beginning of January 2010 at 190 pounds, and I am still here logging away over a year later. This morning I was at 149. I originally had my goal at 160 (I wanted to be realistic!), then lowered it to 150, then 145. I have been pretty much on a plateau since October or so - but at least that means I haven't GAINED in all that time. If I can nudge myself down to 145, I'll probably set a new goal of 140. I am 5ft 6 (or so) and 53 years old, so'd I'd say that's reasonable.

I joined the first week of January (not a NY resolution!).

    Weighed 202.6 then
    Weigh 190.6 now
For a total loss of 12 pounds! 1 more pound puts me in the proper BMI range for my height!

This site definitely helped spur things along, when all I really was doing initially was planning to get a little exercise in while playing Your Shape on the 360. Started browsing through fitness apps, and it has turned into a full blown lifestyle change and weight loss.

    I joined in May 2010.

I'm a short girl, only about 5'3". My heaviest weight ever was close to 160lbs. I wore a size 10 then. I managed to slim down to about 145lbs for my wedding in September of 2009. In May of 2010, I stepped on a scale at my workplace and saw that my weight had gone back up to 148lbs. Feeling depressed, I walked into the next room and saw one of my coworkers on MFP. I asked her what she was doing, and she showed me the site. I decided the funny coincidence of catching her on a fitness website two minutes after I had the depressing realization that I was plumping up again was actually God flicking me between the eyes and telling me to DO something about my fat butt. I signed up immediately.

Starting weight at MFP: 148lbs, wearing a size 8. Current weight: 116lbs, wearing a size 2. 32 pounds down since joining the site. :)

    And very, very happy. :)

I downloaded the app for my iPod in October 2010 (somewhere near Halloween). I started using the website in Early November, I think. I've lost 26 pounds, and I'm 14 pounds away from my goal weight.

I started but didn't get serious until 226 days ago. I began at 178 - 179 lbs but my profile says 176 lbs. I have lost over 20 lbs. I started out wanting to lose 10, then 15 and now I am 6 lbs from my current goal. I have slowed down alot but I am committed to sticking with it. And even if it takes me until my 1 year anniversary to lose those last lbs, I am okay with it. I have more energy, feel better and know I have done something good for myself.

I initially joined last March, but lost only 15 pounds which I promptly re-discovered after I fell off the proverbial wagon.

Then, on January 3rd of this year, I began again. Since then I've lost 16.5 pounds and hoping to meet my 20 pd. 1st goal on my birthday so I can get another iphone!
  • I began on January 1, 2011 and have lost 17 pounds so far. I also joined the Biggest Loser program at my gym and that has absolutely helped. I participate in fitness challenges and cardio/strength training, Zumba, Body Combat.....i'm really thankful to MyFitnessPal and cannot stress enough the importance of logging in ALL of your food. Even if you aren't going to stay on program....log your food in. It is fun to see how many extra calories you are able to eat with exercise too. Lots and lots of luck to everyone with your respective journey.

  • I joined Dec. 31st, 2010. I have logged in everyday and tracked everything and have lost 10lbs so far. It's been great learning how much my body needs and what kind of energy certain foods provide (or don't). So far, I very happy with this great resource
  • I joined Jan. 29 2011 and so far I'm down 4.5 lbs.

I actually joined about a billion years ago... actually 2008. I was researching calorie counts for one of my patients and tried it for a couple days off and on. When my husband wanted to lose 20 lbs I suggested this site to him.... and when I saw him getting results I dedicated myself to getting the weight off once and for all.
I really started using this site December 28th, 2010 after coming home from Christmas holidays. So far I have lost 15 lbs! Plenty more to go, slow and steady is the way I am doing it.

I started using MFP to log calories in Aug 2010. My goal then was just to record everything I ate. Wow!! That was a shocking experience. Who knew those "free Saturdays" (which mostly went from Friday to Sunday) could pack such a wallop? I gained six pounds, and looking at the scales + my food diary let me get rid of two huge mental blocks: that weekend calories don't count and that 2100--or 2200 or 2300--calories is "almost the same" as 1900.

I finally stopped living those two lies at the beginning of January 2011. :-)
