I've always thought my vices were sweets and desserts. No - it's BREAD. OMG. Any kind of bread. Thankfully I like wheat the best, but I can just tear through (non-sliced) loaf of bread in a minute and eat it. It is the most delicious stuff. :(

I wish it were something else. Bread is not the most nutricious! lol.

I am on a special program where I eat prepackaged foods plus one meal I prepare myself---it taught me alot about what made me gain weight and more importantly, what it takes to get rid of the weight and maintain it. It takes 14 days to break a habit, and I do not crave bread nor do I crave sugar. I have 2 kids and a husband --its around me all the time---I just have no desire for it--but trust me, I was not always like this. You can do it if you put your mind to it.

I feel healthier and more agile sine I quit/reduced my bread intake. I used to LIVE on the stuff too :[

    LOL..
Isn't it ironic that in our culture from birth on we see bread literally as the staff of life? That is it a piece of a our cultural memory. I just know that in my own mind, bread holds much more significance than a simple food and represents so much.
It's hard to recognize that it is not necessary and even just something you should cut out for the most part :\

That sucks that your family isn't eating healthy with you too. For me, it is very difficult watching people eat the stuff I love.

I know, isn't it sad? I mean, bread means so much "bread of life" ....."best thing since sliced bread"....etc.
It goes on. It's weird to think of a world without bread. I know it's possible. I just have to do it!

Yeah, I need to reduce mine. It's not that I eat "so much" of it, but rather, it's just a weakness and I cannot deny it. So I don't pig out on it or eat ungodly amounts of it throughout the day, but it is usually (unnecesseary) bread that throws me over calories for the day.

The topic sentence could have been written by me! I confess I'm a former bread-aholic, I still love it, but I try really hard to live without it.
Now that I've given it up as much as possible - I don't miss it as much, but it's still a temptation. Now I know how my Dad felt when he gave up cigarettes!!

I recently made the comment that part of my large tummy is years of loving bread too much. Each piece of bread I ate, is now plastered to my upper abdomen like layers of ugly wallpaper YUCK! So now when I weaken, I say to myself "Do you really want to have to work that hard to rid yourself of another layer of fat? I don't think so!!!!!

Good luck to all bread-aholic's out there - It's a tough battle!
