Does anyone have the desire to runa a marathon - and will do it someday - but are still at that very beginning of not even able to run 5km yet? Thats me and all my other online friends can run 10-30km already- Id love to communicate regularly with others who are in the same situation - discuss how we get to the next distance- training idesa- nutrition ideas- stretches etc

  • I've done several, even though biking is my main exercise during the warmer months. Don't forget...even those that have several under their belts couldn't do a 5k at some point! If you want advice or thoughts, add me, message me.

    Google "Hal Higdon".

His newbie training plans are very good.
  • Hey there!
Halhidgon.com has a great training plan. Also see Runner's World online.

I started running almost a year ago and half finished one marathon, three halfs, 10ks, and 5ks.

    I LOVE it!!
Taking a couple weeks off to let my foot heal, but would love to see how your training goes!!

That's an unbelievable raceload for someone who has only been running for under 12 months. I wouldn't really advocate that volume of racing (& associated training) in a first year of running. It'll only leave you injured.
  • Training for my first full now. I've been running about 6 years, did my first half last year and ended up doing a second half. I'm terrified to try the full, but sure gonna try! I couldn't even run more than 2 minutes when I started, you will get there! Takes time, dedication and patience. Good Luck on the journey!
