Well, I found MFP through my android phone as an app to count calories. Well this and another one. But I LOVED that I could scan bar codes with this one. Since that initial reason for liking the site I have found SO many more reasons.
I began MFP on 1/1/11. Sort of a New Years Resolution thing but I really don't do those. More as it was an easy date to start. So anywho, I've been doing this for 1 1/2 months now and I'm quite happy with myself. I happy with the commitment I have found so far and am hoping to do better as I continue to progress both personally and physically.
To date I've lost +/- 15 lbs. I tried calorie counting last summer and had some good results last summer but then we moved to NYC for a month and my counts totally went out the window. It has taken me this long to get myself back to it but I love MFP for adding so much more than just simple calorie counting to my weight loss journey.
I'm a 33 (34 in 5 days) and mom of 4 (13, 11, 10, 8). I work full time and at a desk job. I've said for years I need to lose weight. You know that extra baby weight I just never got rid of. (Don't all of us moms know what that's about...?)
So here I am. This is me. My goals are set. Well, mostly. I know where my weight should be to be a healthy BMI. I also know some of those weights are unrealistic for me as I've never been that small in my life and doubt I'd look healthy or be healthy at those weights. I'm working to feel better, look better, and be better.
I'm looking for support too. My husband supports me and all but not the extra support we want when we start this kind of journey. I recently made my food diary public hoping to make myself more accountable. If I lied I was only lying to myself before. Now I'm lying to everyone who is on a similar journey as mine. (Well, I actually haven't lied at all on my food diary yet. The only way I haven't put something in is if I forgot it but I don't think I have yet. I log it all. The good, the great, the bad, and the VERY bad...) Plus the added support I could get if I'm not on the right track, the possible advice others could give on what I'm eating or what I'm doing for exercise.
Wow, I just realized how much I had babbled. Guess maybe I should stop while I am ahead.

Hi and welcome. I found MFP on my iTouch in December and didn't go online until January. Now, I rarely use the app and always go online. I have made some really awesome friends on here who are all inspirations, supportive and give me tons of motivation.
Good luck to you!0 -

Doing great, Momma! 15 pounds is a great accomplishment and owning up to your food mishaps is totally paramount. I wish I was as honest as you :-). *tee hee* I had a few slices of pizza the other night then "forgot" to log in for 3 days. Actually I kind of did forget, but that's besides the point!
Happy Valentines day!0
