What do you do for sinus headache pressure?

Our weather has been ranging from 20-80 for the last couple weeks and now I have an enormous sinus headache and pressure.

In the past, I would reach straight for the Alka Seltzer liquid gels... but now that I'm trying to get healthy, I'm thinking twice about taking medicines.

What do you eat/do to relieve a sinus headache without medication?

  • Ive had lots of sinus problems in the past, best way is head over a bowl of steam and deep breathing (or steam room if u can get to one!) You can add some oils/decongestants to the water too
    Better than painkillers anyday

You could try sticking ur face over a pot of boiling water the steam helps sometimes..... or lay back with a cold pack on ur face, or anything cold a wash cloth u stuck in the freezer for a couple minutes...may not make the headache part go away but it'll help with some releif. I know they stink i get to many to not medicate them, but when i was pregnant i couldnt so i found other ways to help them. good luck, feel better soon : )

ok this kind of counts as medicine, viks vapour rub, either under the nose or you can put a dollop in hot water and inhale it.

other than that, there are some pressure points for sinuses that supposedly drain them if you massage a certain area between nose and eye, good chance googling it (its hard to explain without a diagram). hope this helps, bad sinuses can be awful.

I normally add some vicks to the water so the menthol can open up my sinuses.
