Hello,
My name is Susan and I am turning 54 in April. When it comes to losing weight It's Deja Vu all over again! Been there, done that! 4 years ago I started losing weight and after 9 months of dedication I lost 53 pounds. Then life got busier and one by one my newfound good habits slowly crept away until I find myself teetering at the 20 pounds regained mark.
Well, I'm not having any of that! With the help of my sister guiding me to this website and also to www.fatloser.com I have miraculously found my bootstraps and have given myself a tug! Since I really started a week ago I have lost 3.5 pounds and I am SO happy!
I used a different calorie counting site before which I did like but it was SO time consuming and cumbersome to use I was reluctant to look for another one, so I was just delighted to find this one! It is really helping me to stay on track throughout my day. I even survived Valentine's Day and lost a pound! Yea me!!
I am done bellyaching and making excuses for myself. I am taking a no nonsense approach. I am not interested in being coddled or rationalizing my dieting failures. I am joining my own bootcamp where "we" know the rules and had better darn well follow the rules or suffer the consequences of being fat forever! I am walking twice a day and doing video strength training with dumbbells for approximately 30 minutes (give or take) 5 days a week. And if I can't get my act together during the day to get these things done then I'll be doing them before I go to bed! I'll get organized soon enough, because I don't want to be living like that!
I learned last time what my body is capable of doing and looking like! Such a pleasant surprise to see what my size 16 body looked like in a pair fo white size 8 jeans! Not bad for an old gal! I made it to 151.8 pounds but was able to maintain 154 - 156 for quite a while. I never made it to my goal of 135 pounds. Today I am 165.2. I am giving myself the time to lose weight properly at 1 pound a week. If it goes faster, I'll definitely allow it! But it isn't a race, and my most important thought is that this will be the last time I lose the weight. I will reach my goal of 135 - 140 pounds and I will live there forever.
I am following the Dr. Oz principles of no sugar and no white flour, white rice, white pasta, or saturated fats. I really enjoyed this diet before but those darn white flours are everywhere! Gotta be ever vigilant! I don't believe in eating diet anything and prefer real food. I love to cook and I love food, so I think I have plenty of choices still available to me. My sweetener is stevia. I like agave, but it is too much like a syrup and I get visions of drizzling it everywhere.......I am also a peanut butter - holic and need a 12 step program for that. I realize my weakness, so "good bye peanut butter, my first true love....." and "hello" to health and well being! I'm not even going to try to lose weight this time, I am just going to DO IT and that is all there is to it! I've already gotten rid of my cravings by being true to my diet! The rest is so much easier without wondering what the sugar bowl is doing! All it takes is time and effort and being ever vigilant!
