Getting used to food

So I was reading about calorie cycling, and one of the things I read was that your body can get used to food and metabolize it less effectively (kind of like it gets used to exercise--you have to switch it up sometimes). I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was any truth to this (and, if so, what that truth is)?

I seriously have nothing to back this up, but yea, I have always thought this, again not sure why, but just a feeling I always had.

Our bodies are smart and I think this is so as well. I lost 20lbs in a month eating what I was eating and I haven't lost anything in almost 3 weeks. I think I need to switch up my exercise and eating habits. Maybe a fat girl meal once a week might do the body good!
  • you might think the comment abut junk food triggering a loss is weird, but I've noticed that if I'm really strict and keeping to the healthy eating, it sorta plateaus and then I'll have a "junk food" meal and I'll be sure that when I weigh I'll have gained only to find I lost something.... weird. Our bodies are smarter than we are I think.... gotta keep tricking the body so it doesn't get in a rut... LOl
