Power90 or 30 Day Shred ?

Hello all!
I'm new to MFP but have been very interested in the talk about Power90 and 30 Day Shred. I'm just starting working out (have the Zumba dvds and have been doing them for about a week) but would like to add one of the above mentioned to my workout selection. I know I'm not ready for P90X (which my husband owns for when I'm ready) and thought one of these two would be better to start with.
What's the opinion - is one better than the other?

I'd work your way up! Start with the 30 day shred (it's a tough one) and then graduate to power90 and then to p90x : )
i do somewhat of a graduation system like that as well.
I just completed the 30 day shred and now i've moved up the charts to a few harder programs.
Its better to start out lighter then to rush into something. You don't want to discourage yourself
30 day shred will REALLY help with strength, endurance and stamina and could be really beneficial for when you do power900 -
I did 30 Day Shred first, then Power 90. Honestly, after about 60 days, I was tired of Power 90. I stuck it out to finish it, but I stopped enjoying it at the end. I'm currently doing a mix of Jillian Michaels' DVDs, including 30 Day Shred. It might just be me, but after 60 days, I no longer had the attention span for Power 90.
I guess it also depends on your stamina. 30 Day Shred workouts are ~ 30 minutes including warm up and cool down. Power 90's are a little longer (level 1-2) and then get longer at level 3-4.
Either way, I loved them both and plan to keep them in my library to take out whenever I'm in the mood.0 -
I have the Jillian Micheals DVD's and I think they are AMAZING!!! I do them on the days I can't get to the gym or when I'm snowed in (like the last 2 weeks) and I felt sore and challenged everytime. See if your library has them first or find them used on amazon or ebay- that's what I did.0

I would mix Shred with Power90. I've done both and they're both pretty good!
I agree with Kath, after so many days of Power90 it gets very boring. There are only 4 dvds for the whole program. So you could get Power 90, and also pick up a couple of Jillians dvds to add the mix if you get bored.0 -
Thanks for the input. Sounds like Step 1 should be 30 Day Shred. Thanks ranking them like that - it was hard to tell which one to start with. Amazon has 30 Day Shred for only $8.99 but thanks for the library suggestion. I will definitely look there, too!0
