Commitment phobe?

I have several workout DVD programs at home; i.e., 30 Day Shred, Chalean Extreme, and some other random DVDs, but I just keep finding excuses not to start a program and stick with it for the number of days it runs for. I find excuses why I can't do them; i.e., I'm going on vacation and so I'll be gone for 5 days so I might as well not start. I do the same thing for races I want to sign up to run, what if I'm not well trained when the time comes to run the race, what if the weather conditions stink and I can't do it. Anybody else have this problem and overcome it? And if so, how? I really feel I need to move on to another level to make some progress, but fear of committing to something is holding me back :(

I think you have to just pick what you are going to do and do it. There's not a lot to overcome but yourself, and none of us can really tell you how to do that effectively. Just keep trying.

I start with small goals and then my next one will be bigger/longer. For example I wanted to exercise at least 3x/week. Then I bumped that up to weights 3x a week and cardio twice a week. Smaller goals are a little easier and once you've accomplished that you've got that good feeling and can make a larger goal ?
