I've lost 18 pounds and NO ONE has said a damn thing about it.

Well, my husband has...but that's it.

No one at work.

My mom.

NO ONE.

Wtf? It's a MAJOR difference...

What butt-wipes.

could be one of 2 reasons: 1. everyone holds their weight differently, maybe they haven't noticed 2. THEY'RE JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would say it's probably reason #2 LOL!!! All the more reason to kick *kitten*! You go girl!

Just remember that it's a touchy subject for people. Sometimes it's awkward to make a weight comment to someone even if it's a congratulations on your loss. Not EVERYONE takes it as a compliment. What if that person is offended that you noticed? Like they were fat before or something? what if that person wasn't intentionally trying to lose weight & doesn't want it noticed? It's a very touchy subject for some people & not everyone feels comfortable making comments.

the others, are probably jealous : P

I understand that...however, I've worked with these people for 10 years LOL There's no "offended" thing goin on.

I think they just haven't noticed...oh well. THEY WILL SOON! LOL!

Not letting it bother me, but just bewildered because they have commented on everything else in everyone's life.

    lol.

    Yes, I feel great too!

I was shocked that my mom said NOTHING. Normally she is telling me how fat I am or how I need to find Christ. LOL.

I totally feel ya. When I lost 10 lbs back in the beginning everyone went on and on and on about how GREAT I looked, and now no one says a word and I have lost a total of 70. But, I am not good with compliments, so that might be why no one says anything to me.
    Keep up the good work!

You look great! People sometimes just don't know what to say...for example I asked my hubby if he noticed and he complained, "yes, your butt is gone." It made me laugh, but just shows people have a hard time complimenting people about their weight and weight loss.

    I completely understand your frustration!

I've lost a total of 53 lbs. and NO ONE was saying anything to me except my husband (but I tell him daily about what I eat, etc.). Then on Sunday, 3 of my neighbors all commented (separate occasions) that I look like I'd lost weight...all I was thinking was "It took you this long to notice?"

Well, at least it isn't a slap in the face comment like my husband gave me tonight....my late night hunger craving got the best of me so we ran to Wal-Mart, there was a really big bubble butt lady in there and he looked at her and looked at me, looked back at her and said, "You really are losing weight, a few weeks ago you looked like that!" You are doing great! Keep it up.

First of all, congrats on the weightloss! And secondly, who are you losing weight for, yourself or other people?

Because I started at 315 pounds, my 40 pound weight loss has not really made a difference nor do poeple really notice because it's not quite showing yet! I however, do notice that my clothes are a bit loser but that's about it! Give it time, your body needs to catch up with the weight loss then peeps will notice! I figure another 40 pounds and it will really start showing on me, sometimes you just have to be patience. Don't let it get you down, it will happen soon enough. Also, it's true that when you see someone everyday, they don't notice as quickly verses not see someone for a couple months or so. Keep it up!

I'm at 69.5 lbs lost now and am just starting to get comments. It's also just been recently that I've got some new clothes that fit and aren't designed to hide my weight.
  • I say be grateful no one notices then they might try to give you pressure or sabotage you.

You notice, your husband notices and we (MFPs) certainly notice. You look gorgeous!

    For other people. Duh.

Wtf. I'm losing it for me. What is wrong with wanting people to notice?

Especially these people who notice EVERYTHING and comment on EVERYTHING...when I was sick and gained a lot of weight, boy did they let me know it!

    Bug.

Are you still wearing the same clothes from before the weight loss? I have been until yesterday when I decided to wear a new pair of pants that I hadn't worn before, and even though it was only 12 lbs, a lot of people commented but said nothing the day before when i was wearing pants that were hanging off of me.

    Or they're buttwipes!
