Hi everyone,

Gotta question....please remind me please remind me how this works...I joined this group in January..everyone is so nice and this site is cool....I have lost 45 pounds so far....But i am now experiencing a plateau for about 3 weeks now...I am about 15 pounds away from my goal . i would like to ask if everyone can tell me how to kick start my weight loss again..
I exercise daily and eat only 1200 calories....and by eating 5 small meals a day and drinking a lot of water....thanks so much for any help..

First of all congratualtions on loosing so much. You have done brilliantly!

I wish I had the utimate answer, the only thing I can tell you stick with it and it will pass. I dont know the science behind it, it seems impossible to me that when you eat less than your body needs it cant do anything other than loose weight but thats what seems to happen sometimes.

I have been stuck for three weeks now, not going over my allowance and taking regualar excercise but no change on the scales. I only have six pounds to go after loosing fifteen but these last few seem to want to stay. Then lo and behold this week I loose one and a half pounds, movement at last. Why I dont know, nothing has changed and at times I felt like giving in but finally a result.

So.....hang in there and I'm sure it will come good.

Good luck and well done :drinker:

I know this seems crazy, but try eating more. Sometimes your body gets used to what you do everyday, so trying something different can kick-start things. I seemed to loose weight after a cheat day. I would be so scared after it, but then it seemed I'd lose an extra pound those weeks. Some people on here have had success with calorie cycling in which they vary their calorie intake by a few hundred calories each day. Congrats on losing 45 lbs!

also try mixing up your excercise routine. try something you don't normally do (ex- if you usually cycle, try jogging or tennis instead) switching to something your body isn't used to tends to burn more calories because of the new and often uncoordinated movements involved. Also you can try varying the amount you eat eat day. Or just take a break from logging for a couple days. don't go crazy with it, but a boost of extra calories can really jump start your metabolism! good luck, you've done SO well! :drinker:
