I marinade and braise alot of my meats, specifically chicken...For instance, i marinaded chicken breast last night in yogurt and cocnut milk. Last week i braised pork in a tomato sauce...But, when you actually have the finished product, the most of the liquid isnt acutally consumed. How do i calculate how many calories the marinade adds?

Thats hard to do. I normally just add about 50 quick add calories to any meat that I marinade.0

If I am using a packet marinade, i just use the serving size info right off the envelope's nutrition info (usually around a teaspoon or tablespoon for spices). If it's homemade stuff I put together, I factor in about 1/8 to 1/4 cup of the marinade, you just have to eyeball your best estimate.0

It also depends on what kind of oil (if any) you are using, and how high of heat (and type) you are using. When I do meats to be cooked on the flame grill I will add EVO or canola oil to the marinade because the high heat over flame will burn off the oil without drying out the meat. When I plan on using the George Foreman grill (or oven broiler) with no flame I use very little if any oil. The GF grill doesn't get hot enough to burn off added oil and dry out the meat. I usually add 30-60 cals to my diary.0
