I am having a real hard time making it out of the plus size "mind set". I guess I have just been shopping there for so long, that it is almost impossible to not just head to that section of the store or internet.

Have an occasion coming up that I need [LOL] "slut-a-licious" clothing for...and am scared to order anything, b/c I don't "trust" the 16s yet...what if they don't fit (when ordered off the net) like they do when you actually walk into a store to purchase something?

I started in a 24 so the 16s are really welcomed.

Unless you need something particular, I'd try and find a store in your area.

I'd find a store, or at least order from someplace that has a store that accepts returns. Until you learn how stores fit the new you, it's safer to try it on. Once you get comfortable with a store (for instance, I shop at the same 5 stores all the time, and have learned what cuts/styles/sizes work for me, and can order online pretty confidently now) you can begin ordering online.

Go to the store and have fun! Especially if you know you are down from your original size.

If you don't trust the 16's yet....have a fun experiment with yourself and go to a plus size clothing store, and try on a few jeans and notice how you are too small for the sizes you used to be. Slowly make your way down to whatever their smallest size is! That will hopefully help you gain trust as well as be fun. Bring a friend too!

Yup you definitely need to try stuff on, unless you're ordering custom. Not only are you smaller (congrats!) but your body may be shaped differently and some shapes that you avoided before might look great on you now. I'm a size 10/12 and I have to try EVERYTHING on, especially jeans (ugh) because I'm right there on the line. I'd say bite the bullet, choose a store and try on a lot of different things, and remember that not all companies have the same definition of what size something is. Good luck on the slut-a-licious clothing hunt ;)

It's crazy how from woman to woman weight can be so different but size of jeans can be the same. I was in a size 24 at 339 pounds now I'm down 39 pounds and I'm in a size 22, still some 24's.

    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
