Anyone with medicated Thyroid issues? Question!

Is anyone on medication for thyroid? I have been on synthroid for 2 years to no avail. I have all the symptoms, some even severe. When they upped my levothyroixine to over 100, I got heart palipitations and had to go back down. However, my symptoms continued to plaque me. I finally got my dr. to allow me to try Armour and that did help initially, but soon I was back to all my major symptoms.
I am now seeing an internist for somethign else and he just happens to work on thyroids too! He has changed up my thyroid meds -- switched me to a T3/T4 combo. I took all my lab work for the past 2 years and he said, "you'll never lose weight with thyroid numbers like this!" SO, hopefully this new drug therapy will at least help --- even a little bit!
Anyone else on a T3/T4 combo for thyroid? If so, how does it work? Did you notice any difference? Over the past 2 years, my numbers have been very consistent -- even with dosage changes in just the levothyroxine and even the Armour. My T4 tends to be slightly high (just over the range) and my T3 is always low -- just under the range. My TSH is in "normal" range, but on the lower side. Dr. thinks a combo treatment will get me where I need to be.
Any feedback will be appreciated! I am hopefull I can get this under control as it is extremely difficult for me to lose an ounce!
