hi there,
i'm new to all this, well not trying to loose weight but doing it on a public forum so be gentle with me. i've been using mfp for a few months with limited success but that is purely my fault and not the sites, so i figure being on the forums and getting a gentle kick up the backside from you guys might help, would have done this sooner but i usually access this site through work and it has filters on forums but i noticed the other day that american based sites seem to get round this so here i am. HELLO!!
i'm 30, female and slowly getting heavier, which is my main reason for being here i'd love to lose weight but i'd be happy for the time being to stop putting it on. on my 30th birthday i weighed myself and was unhappy and promised myself that by my next birthday i would have lost a stone that was october 24th by christmas i'd put on 10lbs so i was a bit off track. but since the new year i have slowly started to loose weight it may only be a few ounces each week but its still a decrease. i know i'm going to struggle as i have little will power and even less motivation. so come on folks help keep me on the right track please

Do you have a goal you are working towards?
Personally, my short term goal is to be able to walk around an amusement park with my children for a week in April so that keeps me going. Having a lot of support from others keeps me motivated and makes me want to work harder on my goals.
Keep people around you who are encouraging you and your fitness goals.0 -

There are loads of people on this site in the same situation - including me - and they're all really supportive and encouraging.

Feel free to add me too - I'm from Cheshire too! I LOVE my American friends, but it's nice to have some from the UK too because we tend to exercise, and close our diaries at similar times. Those MFPers in the USA exercise in the night (strangely :laugh: )

goals, hmmmm i did but then by putting on weight i went and moved the goalposts so need to think about some short term goals to keep me on track but my main goal is to be 10st or under on my 31st birthday in october (about a stone and a half to loose).0
