I really like this website so far. I am disabled and have a hard time standing for prolonged time. But, I just made myself finish a 1 hour walk. I am going to pay for this later with pain but gain in weight loss. Oh well, I guess that is what they made Advil for.

    :flowerforyou: Welcome to MFP!
Would it help if you break the exercise into shorter segments? You WILL get results with doing just 10 minutes several times a day, and there might be less pain than when you do it all at once.
    :drinker: Good Luck!!
  • Wow! I am impressed with your weight loss!

As for walking, I have a spinal cord stimulator imbedded in my spinal column. I have had several back surgeries, to no avail, and this helps a bit. I don't want to be on pain killers any longer. When I start walking, which I really enjoy, it really is best if I get it all in in one fell swoop. Otherwise, the pain sets in and I cannot do it.

I am on day 6 and I keep a pedometer on my person during my wake times. Yesterday, I put in 5566 steps. I know I am a long way from 10,000 steps, but I am working up to it slowly.

I know that if I take the weight off, i will ease the pain.
