I had a cup of BMGPasta for dinner tonight and went to post it on my food log..I was completely shocked that I had just eatten 840 calories....I am hoping I am missing something...otherwise I will never eat pasta again:(
Any thoughts on the matter would be great!
This is my first week on MFP I really like it-I am currently at 1200 to 1300 caloires a day(per doctor) to lose 10 pounds and am exercising 35mintues 4 x a week(walking)..I was at 134 last week..hoping to be 124 by april...

As a general rule of thumb, a serving of pasta is 2oz which is dry, and equals 1 cup cooked. For most pastas, that is about 200 calories. Where did you get 840 from?
  • Oh no! Isn't that the worst feeling, when you think you're doing ok and then you find out something was way more than you thought?? But you're ok this time, don't worry! Girlruns is correct - I went to the Barilla website and they list a 2 oz serving as having 210 calories. (http://www.barillaus.com/Pages/Product-Landing.aspx?brandID=5)
  • I had 1.5 cups of Buitoni Spinach tortalini last night and the calories on that (without sauce) were 480...

Yeah, a serving of Pasta is 2oz and when it is on your plate it is a VERY small amount ie a Small Pancake or a Large Cookie....about 3 inches in diameter.......
