Ok, first off I know there is no real way to make deep frying healthy. That said, I LOVE FRENCH FRIES! But not baked, they must be golden fried crisp delicious goodness. It is taking every once of willpower not to go down to the cafe here at work and order some fresh fries. I'm staying away only with the hope that there may some slightly better way to make them at home.

Any such luck?

    What's your budget?
Maybe one of those Tefal Actifry things would be good :)
  • I eat Alexia Crinkle Cut Sweet Potato Fries that I always bake in the toaster oven and they come out surprisingly crisp and delicious, like they were just fried. And 30 of them for only 145 or so calories is more than worth it.

Cut your own fries from fresh potatoes and fry them on the stove in olive oil, still unhealthy but better than any restaurant fries, plus they taste alot better.

I know how hard it is to fight a craving! Mine wasn't fries...but pasta and rice!! I mean I dreamed about it! My husband usually takes me to Olive Garden for Valentine's Day. I was so proud of myself...I resisted and we went to Applebee's. I at 1/2 of one of those "under 550" meals. You can do it...you just have to find something else that you like in place of the fries. Now instead of white pasta I use corn pasta that is gluten free and has less carbs. I still only eat it every once in awhile. Also, instead of rice, I now eat quinoa. Try chewing gum when you get hungry. I know it doesn't compare to french fries, but sometimes I think I just want to chew something. I am not actually hungry. You can do this!!
