I know that during cardio etc. you're supposed to keep your core muscles tight. I am not sure that I can consciously do this. Is there anything or any tips that can help me do this?
Thanks

Hi,
I have the same problem. When I think to do it, I am concentrating more on that then on my cardio routine. But then if I don't concentrate on that, I have a feeling my belly is all over the place!!!I'd like ideas too!

Basically if u keep ur shoulders back and ur posture straight and aligned, ur pulling ur core muscles tight without even trying to! Just always remember to keep ur posture straight up, even if ur sitting at ur computer...subconsciously, u will also be tightening ur core muscles! It all has to do with posture ;0)0

If you have a job where you sit a lot then try to tighten your stomach muscles all day long. Do it while you watch TV or read a book. Do it any time you notice you aren't doing it. Eventually it becomes second nature and you'll be able to easily do it while you do your core workout.0

Our fitness instructor at the gym tells us when we are doing Zumba to suck our belly button to our spine..I know it sounds weird..but it helps me focus on keeping those muscles tight.0

Ive heard that you are actually supposed to do it all the time............... I feel like it makes me tense though, like I'm not relaxed.0 -

I have the same problem but I found 2 ways to improve it:
1. Suck my belly when I am sitting at the office
2. Started Core Rythms program at home during weekends.
Core Rythms for those who may not know is a dance cardio program that focuses to your core (but is also great for the other parts of the body). If you follow the instructions correctly you really work you muscles tigher and tigher. It can be quite challenging the first few times but you will realize a huge difference from the very first time! Plus it really helps with posture!0
