So this year I am running in the Relay For Life for the FIRST TIME EVER! I am running for my Grandpa whom died of Cancer before I was born and my Mother who suffered Ovarian Cancer. My friend also has an Aunt with Bone Marrow Cancer, and My boss has a sister with Brain Cancer right now. These are sad sad things and I can see how hard it is for them to handle the idea that their family member just might not make it.

I am the kind of person who wants to help in any way I can! So short of discovering the cure I am going to help those who actually have the knowledge to work towards that goal.

The walk is April 2nd 2011 and is for 24 hrs. I have had many people tell me not to walk the whole thing because I will be sore afterwards, but the way I look at it is that my day or two of sore muscles is nothing compared to the pain and suffering those with cancer experience every day. I may not be able to walk the entire thing, but I will push as far as I can! Cancer never sleeps. Besides thats one heck of a work out eh?

My goal is to raise at least $250 for the cure. I am at $35.00 so far and I am hoping to make it to $250.00 If you would like to donate to the Cure you can copy and paste this link to your browser and submit your own donation, or find out where you too can be part of the cure by participating on a walk in your area!

  • They are all over and so much fun too! I have actually been singing in the opening ceremony for the past few years to kick the night off. I know ours is in May...hoping I can still sing this year...getting married that month also! You will do great! It's not a marathon. It's people walking together for a cause. Good Luck!

That is so awesome!! I went to my first Relay for Life back in 2003. It was a night that changed my life. I had no idea what to expect. I have been on a team every year since then and even was on the committee for the last 3 years.

It's alot of fun, and VERY emotional. Cancer has touched so many lives. I'm so happy to see someone new joining the efforts! Have fun at your Relay!!

Yes of course I am!! =D

Our Relay is in South LA in April. I moved to Texas this past year, but stayed on the LA team since I travel back and forth to see family. I will also attend the one in Texas where I live now in May to get started here as well.
