Hello,
Well it's day one. I've already posted a previous post today, but I thought I should be polite and say hello to this community. I just found out about the website last night and immediately set up an account. As I continue to explore I have found that this is not just a website but a strong community of people who all encourage each other and all have different weight loss goals/healthy lifestyle goals. My goal is to finally do what I have never been able to do. Which would be to stop being so dependent on food. My family has a history of diabetes. I'm a new mom (6 weeks). And if I cannot do it for just myself I have my child to encourage me to be a better me. So here it is day one and I hope with the encouragement of this community and my child's smile I will no longer stop after 20 lbs but make it to my goal. It took me 20+ years to gain the weight and if done right I hope to have my goal weight accomplished in at least 2 years. Yay!

Hope everyone's journey is filled with good miilestones big and small! Have fun!
Sorry if this rambled or was too serious but it's what's on brain :)

I know you can do it. This is day six for me. I have never made it this far before. This site is awesome. and the people are very helpful
one step at a time, one day at a time and one pound at a time. Just keep going.Goodluck to you !
  • Congratulations on starting the journey. I can remember my first days as a new mom and food seemed to be the one thing I could count on the DIDN'T stress me out. I didn't even look at a scale until my daughter was 5 and by then I had some serious work to do. I just wanted to say hang in there, take it a day at a time and don't beat yourself up too bad if you 'fall off the wagon' occassionally. Make it a journey, not a race. :)

Congrats new mommy! Your life has forever changed. I think it's wonderful you realize the need to take care yourself so you can be here for child. I too have a family history of diabetes and that scares me more than anything. This the place to be for support through your journey. Also, offer advice to others I think helps making you more aware of your struggles and sucess. Remember it's one day at a time, don't beat your self up if your not perfect and if you do have a bad day or two pick yourself up, dust off and start fresh the next day. Good luck.
