My back is killing me-(if you didn't know I hurt my back yesterday morning because I have been over doing my workouts and a sneeze was the straw that broke the camels back or in my case pulled a muscle) anyway so last night my daughter fell asleep on the floor i thought about leaving her there because it was going to hurt so bad to carry her into her bed I even tried to wake her up but my girl was knocked out so I had to suck it up and do it-- OMG I thought i was going to die- I almost dropped her the pain piercing through my back was horrible- then I get to her bed and as im about to put her down I almost fell because of the pain-- I tried 800mg motrin, some perscription narcotic the doctor gave me and alternating icy hot packs on my backs the pain is insane- I cant workout which drives me nuts its hurts to walk- it hurts to sit-it hurts to lay down last night wasn't a good nights sleep--Same time last month I over did myself in my workouts and I was down with a strained muscle in my back for a week-- i don't have the time to be laid up like this-- if anyone has any ideas i am willing to give them a try-- i would like to soak in the tub but it will cause more pain then help because i will get stuck in the tub-- please help it hurts so bad i have so much to do and can't do it- not just working out but yardwork, house work, and painting-- please help me

Alternating cold and heat?
Get a massage?
See a Chiro?
Those are the things my SIL does when her back acts up! Hope it helps.
Maybe rest would help? Don't worry about the workouts until your back is better - just watch your calories really closely.
Good luck and feel better!

there isn't anything really you can do besides rest it. You can try using a back brace to immobilize the area (they have neopreen ones that will help), and use heating pads, but really, like any other muscle strain, rest and not using the muscle is the only real way to heal it. If it is a muscle issue and not a disk or some other issue that is.0

I pulled my back about 5 months ago--that was one of the big reasons I decided it was time to get healthy because I pulled it by simply getting up from a chair! Anyway, all I could do for a week was sit, couldn't even walk without hubby's help. I used heating pads and took the painkillers/muscle relaxers the doc gave me. After about a week, I was finally able to begin to walk on my own but it took a good month before I felt "right" again.
You'll going have to rest! That's the only way to get it to heal. The more you try to do, the longer healer is going to take. Try heat, keep your feet up, and just rest.0 -
REST REST REST REST----you've obviously got a re-injured muscle if this is the second time in a month......
sorry you're laid up and in pain.....:frown:0 -
thanks everyone-- but rest is something that I just can't do right now with two kids and no help mommy has to keep going-- I am trying to take it a little easier-- but I have to keep going-- I actually attempted a workout---
It is my muscle not a disc I saw the doctor last month when this happened it happened for the same reason last month too I was over doing my workout its basically a way my body is telling that it needs a break since I wasn't doing it myself but I am just so focused that I am just becoming obsessed with trying to lose weight since it has been so hard for me-- Thanks everyone- just taking it one day at a time0 -
ouch!
Sorry your in so much pain.
Sending you ~healing vibes~0 -
Just remember, back injuries are one of the toughest for a doctor to diagnose. My wife and I both had back problems in the past, and on both occasions, the doctor misdiagnosed. We had to see 3 specialists (1 more for me, 2 more for the wife) before they found the real issue. Not saying your doctor is wrong, just saying that it's very possible for them to be wrong, so if you are confident he/she is right, then that's fine, but if you have any doubts, ask for a referral to a specialist.0

Yeah thats hard when I go to a military doctor they aren't exactly the best-- They did do X-Ray's last month but that didn't make sense to me if they wanted to look at the muscle go figure-- Who knows After last months injury I was fine after about week and a half- then everything was good until just recently-- who knows I think I just need to take it as easy as I can with all that i have to do--0
