I'm used to gearing my "diets" toward staying thin. My goal is to gain muscle and I'm thinking I may not be eating enough. It's all new to me LOL I read some Q&As online but a lot of them are males asking the questions. It must be different for a female.
I have made healthier food choices, but I may need to up the calories? I don't want to put all this effort into it and not get good results. Right now my body fat is 23%, I'm guessing I'd like to to be around 18-20%. I'm 35 years old and 5'9 tall. There is some weight that I want to lose but, I figure that if I focus on the muscle gain than the fat will eventually come off.

Also what supplements are best? I still have some research to do on these but, there are a few names that keep popping up. I have my protein powder, what about about ceratine and Glutamine?

Add me if you'd like. Read the amazing book called the Anabolic Diet for some great tips on building muscle and losing fat at the same time. It's the plan I follow and have been having great success with it.

For supplements, I drink a whey shake with creatine during my workout (1 scoop) then 1 scoop right after with added glutamine. Lift heavy and ignore that old low weight high rep nonsense that was popular back in the day. Another really well put together book is "The New Rules of Lifting For Women" I like the plans there and how they talk about doing almost all compound exercises.
