I read this article and I wanted to share it with everyone. It is very inspiring:
Finally, brothers and sisters
whatever is true
whatever is noble
whatever is right
whatever is pure
whatever is lovely
whatever is admirable
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy
think about such things.

If you've ever wondered what the secret to contentment is, this is a large piece of the puzzle.
What you think is very important. Your thought life affects your mood, your emotions and even your physical health. Kinda makes you want to be more particular, right?
Personally, my thought life cannot be left unsupervised. If allowed to wander, my mind will dwell on mistakes of the past, circular worrying and concern over tragedies that, statistically speaking, will probably never happen to me.
So, I need to run incoming thoughts through the Phil. 4:8 filter. Is it true? Is it dignifying? Is it inspiring me to be and do my best? If not, that thought only gets one free pass through my mind before I send it back on the train.
You can't be content and focus on the negative at the same time. They will not share the same brain space. If you desire contentment, you have to keep your mind on the good things. It's as simple as that.
So what are you thinking about today? Is it good? Truthfully, life's too short to dwell on anything else. Think about it.
