confused with earned calories?

I am completely confused about how the earned calories from exercise works. Is it best to not re eat those calories if trying to lose weight? Or should I eat them since I vigoursly work out. I'm lost. help and advice would be greatly apprieciated. Thank you!

    calories are energy, you used up energy when you worked out, so please, feel free to gain more energy by eating the calories you have 'earned'.

    it is not necessary to FORCE FEED yourself if you are not hungry. but if you feel hungry, by all means, eat em up :)

    Thank you! I wasn't too sure since every time I've dieted I've never knew about earned calories.
  • You basically need to eat the cals to where your net cals (cals eaten-cals burned) equals your daily goal. I really suggest using this website (http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm) to try to find a proper cal intake so that you make sure you are getting the right amount since you exercise vigoursly.     When I went to the site you suggested it gave me 1700 calories as a baseline. So would it be safe to say I could use this as my base caloric intake and when if i choose to input my exercises not worry about earting them back since they are basically equated with the website you suggested?

    I'm not completely sure what you mean, but if you mean should you eat enough cals to reach your 1700 goal, then yes. You want to make sure, like I said, that your net cals equal your daily goal, especially if you exercise because that is energy that you need back. So you should eat some of the exercise cals back, at least to where you get pretty close to your goal.
