Eating my exercise calories?

I have been using MFP for a week and a half now and have lost 3 lbs. This is my first time on the message boards and have been noticing people talking about "eating my exercise calories". I am a little confused by this. According to my height and weight proportions and to lose 2lbs a week, MFP set my caloric intake to 1200 a day. For example, one day last week I only burned 261 calories with the workout I did so does that mean I should eat an EXTRA 261 on top of my 1200?
confused.

When you enter your exercise, it will automatically calculate your exercise calories into your amount of calories to eat for the day. I know it sounds crazy and this is the first thing I've ever done that told me to eat more based on my workouts. It does work though. It helps speed up your metabolism naturally.0

search the boards, there is a lot of info on it.
But to answer your question, yes you eat them.0 -
yes, if your daily goal is 1200, eat whatever you burn so that your NET calories at the end of the day are 1200
it'll work & you get to eat more0 -
You and I plus a whole lot of folks are confused about this. I try to do some nuts, yogurt and even reduced fat ice cream to try to bump up my calories at least to 1100 net0

On your home page it will tell you how many calories you have left...this number includes your exercise calories.0

I'm averaging 900+ exercise calories every day, and I can't eat all that. If my weight-loss remains steady, I'll do the best I can, but often, my net calories are a lot less than 1200 - I don't think this is an exact science, and we have to experiment a little to discover what's best for us, within reason. I try to consume at least 5 meals a day (meals..?) consisiting of a healthy mix of carb, protein, fats - within my calorie limits. However, I refuse to stuff my body with food when I'm not hungry, and the weight is going in the right direction...
