Just joined the site at the recommendation of a friend. I need to lose approximately 35lbs and hope to do so.

I have always struggled with my weight and have managed to be "thin" three times in my adult life, each time only for 6 months before slowly packing the pounds back on.

This time when I lose it will be forever, so if it takes me a little longer, I am okay with that.

My two biggest problems: (i) I am lazy and just don't exercise, I am the master of excuses, and (ii) I have a food obsession - I just can't seem to control what goes into my mouth. I must own at least 10 different diet and health books, but never seem to commit for more than 2 weeks.

Now, it is a time for a change. Hoping to find the support I need here.

:)

  • Hi and welcome to this fabulous site. The food diary is the key. Be honest in your recordings. The more you use it the better tool it is. I did not exercise in the very beginning. I said I was taking it slow. However after eating properly for the first week, I seemed to have some energy. I worked on getting out of the armchair on my own power and not pushing on the arms. Little by little I am more interested in exercising. You can do it. Come her for support. Friend me if you would like to.
