venison chili
Here is a great venison recipe I made recently that came out terrific. You can use lean beef stew meat in place of venison, but the per serving info will be different.
Venison – 2 lbs, cut into 1” cubes.
Walmart Great Value - Kidney Beans-Low Sodium, (15 oz can) 1 3/4 cup
Ro-Tel - Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilles, “Chili Fixin's” blend (10 oz can) 1 1/4 cup
Hunt's - Tomato Sauce - No Salt Added Fat Free, (15 oz can) (1 3/5 cups ea.)
Onions - Raw, 1 cup, chopped
Produce - Raw Bell Pepper - Green/Red/Yellow/Orange, 1 medium
Spices - Ground Cumin, 1 tsp
Mccormick's - Hot Mexican-Style Chili Powder, 4 tsp (you can use regular/mild if you don't like it as hot)
Crisco - Pure Vegetable Oil, 2 tablespoon
Gold Medal - All Purpose Flour - Enriched, Bleached, Pre-sifted, 2 tbsp (30g)
Spices - Garlic powder, 1 tsp
Brown/sear the meat with the vegetable oil. Drain. Coat with flour and spices. Add to slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients, cook on low 6-8hrs.
Serves 6.

Oh, and if anyone wants the full spread of nutritional info (the full breakdown of fiber, potassium, vitamin A or C, etc) let me know and I'll post it from one of my diary entries.0

That would be great to get the nutritional info. Is the venison wild? I am curious about wild meat cuz my hubby hunts and we never have beef in our freezer all we have is moose, elk and deer. If you have any other good wild meat recipes they would be appreciated!0
